Venus came upon Dave Matthews, her next door neighbor, after taking Caleb out for a walk. She caught him peeking at her out of his window many times before, and thought if someone that was so obviously infatuated with her would want to do the 100 Baby Challenge.
Dave happily agreed to be a father on a single condition. Whether or not the baby turned out to be a boy or girl, Dave wanted it to be named Zeke.
Venus thought that was the simplest thing anyone could ask for and complied gladly.
They shared a quick kiss in Venus's living room.
"Come on! I don't have all day!" Venus giggled in her attempt to rush Dave.
Dave couldn't keep his eyes off her, and wasn't making any move to hide it.
Huzzah! the baby making had begun and once again the beautiful chime of a lullaby floated in the air.
Unfortunately Venus wasn't awake to hear it, she was so tired from taking care of Caleb non-stop she fell asleep almost immediately after Dave and her were done woohooing.
Dave took the initiative to feed the crying Caleb and then return home.
The nausea for this pregnancy was almost unbearable, Venus found herself holding back chunks after sniffing a rotten piece of cheese left in the sink.
"Jeez, all this because of my lifetime wish?" Venus thought after puking up her breakfast on her way to get the morning paper.
Venus wanted to put herself in a more festive mood to distract from the nausea and cravings. Celebrating Caleb's birthday seemed the perfect way to do it.
Right before she could help him blow out his candle, a fire erupted!
Venus didn't know what to do. Her phone was on her nightstand in the other room. If she set down Caleb to grab it or fight the fire, it took the risk of spreading and burning or possibly killing him! She ran outside and hoped her smoke alarm would do it's job.
The firefighters arrived after some time and fought hard and mighty to extinguish the birthday cake disaster. Once they finally put the fire out Venus's dining table and chairs, along with the cake, were ruined!
Venus frowned, not only were her dining set ruined and she did not have the funds to replace, she was terrified that Caleb would begin to fear his birthdays altogether.
Luckily their second celebration went off without a hitch and Caleb developed into a healthy toddler.
Close-up of Caleb. He was a bald little boy with Venus's aqua-blue eyebrows.
Caleb enjoying his blocks on the front lawn. Everybody who walked by couldn't resist his chubby cheeks.
"That's right! Come here my little one!" Venus cheered Caleb on his first steps.
The 100 Baby challenge did not allow Venus to take on any job, not to mention that she'd have a lot of maternity leave. Venus had to find other ways to make a living, she was trying really hard to save up to move into a bigger home. She opted for gardening due to her green thumb and that it took the least amount of time out of her day.
"Are you gonna be good for the babysitter?!" Venus asked Caleb, who managed to babble out a 'yes' among his spit bubbles.
Venus was all prepared to go to the hospital with the babysitter on his way and a taxi waiting for her outside.
ARgh! The contractions had kicked in! Time to have a baby.
Introducing Zeke Lynch, Baby 2.
P.S. Another reminder that I'm happily accepting custom-made baby daddies!
